CASE STUDIES

BIG W

Business challenge: Big W have very large retail store offerings. They are often located within large shopping centres which can have poor or no cellular signal coverage. Big W required a solution to provide cellular signal coverage both in their retail space but importantly in their “back of house” administrative areas, for the three main carriers, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone. They reached out to us to help solve their problem.

Solution: We provided a highly effective solution to ensure cellular coverage was achieved in all the areas required for the three carriers. This included scoping the proposed solution, liaising with centre management, supplying all components and finally installing the solution on time and on budget.

CSR

Business challenge: CSR’s manufacturing and retail centres are sometimes located in poor cellular signal areas. Each of their locations had individual and distinctive challenges. CSR required an effective and strategic solution to a complicated problem, so they came to us.

Solution: After reviewing their sites and addressing their individual needs we created a bespoke solution that would provide reliable and constant cellular coverage for their manufacturing, administration and retail centres across Australia.

NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Business challenge: NSW Department of Education (DoE) have many regional offices throughout NSW. Their staff are often driving throughout the state. There are many areas within the state which suffer from little to no cellular signal. DoE’s challenge to us was to provide their staff with connectivity while they were driving in these difficult areas of the state. The other significant challenge was to find a company to not only provide the expertise of advising the most appropriate solution but to ensure the installation of these products were able to be facilitated throughout the state, with over 20 different locations from Coffs Harbour on the north east coast to Broken Hill in the far west and Albury on the southern boarder.

Solution: After assessing the needs and the challenges for the DoE, we provided both a cellular and satellite solution. The cellular solution was supplied and installed in vehicles were there was some cellular service, however where there was no signal whatsoever, a satellite phone solution was supplied and installed. We ensured a complete end-to-end service including developing a dedicated “online portal” allowing the DoE real time visibility and updates throughout the installation process and a fail safe record keeping data base.

USG BORAL

Business challenge: USG Boral have various regional warehouse and retail sites which happen to be located in cellular signal challenged areas. The challenge was to find a cost effective cellular boosting solution which could be installed in a short time frame and without directly impacting on operational trading.

Solution: Standard practice was followed by accessing the site and establishing the “available” cellular signal from the surrounding cellular communication towers. We then designed a solution to boost the signal and performed the installation within half a day without any loss of trade. Once installed, USG Boral was able to achieve both voice calls and data transfers on 3G and 4G throughout the areas of the site they required.

WESTPAC & ST GEORGE BANKS

Business challenge: Westpac Banking Corporation with both Westpac and St George retail banks in their stable developed new technologies for online and “app” based banking for their customers benefit. With cellular signal transmissions being so varied and irregular depending on the users location in terms of quality, capacity and delivery. The challenge was to ensure cellular connectivity inside their branches for the customers banking needs.

Solution: Westpac’s retail branches appear to be the same however behind the scenes they can be quite different. This is the same situation for St George branches too. We supplied and installed cellular boosting solutions to cover all areas for the branch including back of house, thereby ensure connectivity to not only the banks customers but importantly the banks staff. These solutions had to be as cost effective as possible and robust to meet the high security aspects of the banking sector.
